About
Dongkuk Steel Mill makes steel bars, sections and heavy plates. It was created in 2023 when a Dongkuk group holding company spun off its hot-rolled steel business. The company says it has made iron since the 1960s, ran Korea's first private 50-ton blast furnace and in 1971 became the first in Korea to make heavy plate, and it started an electric arc furnace aimed at lower carbon in 2010.
