Daewoo Engineering & Construction was set up in 2000 as a new company spun off from its predecessor's construction division, and has 30 consolidated subsidiaries. It builds infrastructure such as roads and railways, buildings such as apartments, officetels and offices, and plants including oil and gas facilities, power plants and industrial facilities. Through subsidiaries it also runs hotels, steel bridge and structure work and overseas development.
