LG Electronics was set up in 2002 through a spin-off of the electronics and telecommunications businesses, and it has 182 subsidiaries. Its five main segments are home appliances, air conditioning and cooling solutions, TVs and monitors, vehicle components, and an LG group subsidiary. It researches core technologies such as AI, quantum computing and semiconductor equipment, and is pursuing mass production of humanoid robots and cooperation with NVIDIA.
